Written by NYC elementary students, and performed by professional actors, The Striking Viking Story Pirates' Greatest Hits showcased outrageous sketches and enlivening songs. This zany morning of kid's theater entertained and inspired Cubs to pick up a pencil and write down their own fantastic adventure!

From young to old, all Cubs laced-up their traveling shoes and went "on-the-road" with special guest storyteller, actor/author Ethan Hawke, and Little Red Riding Hood for a trip to Grandmother's house and a fun-filled "virtual" adventure in the Map Division.
Animal Tour of the Library Saturday, April 21, 2007
Cubs members went "on safari" in search of animals—both real and imagined throughout the landmark building at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street. Among the discoveries were horses, snakes, lions, eagles, paws, and claws! Guests returned to the Trustees Room to enjoy animal-themed snacks while coloring pictures of their sightings.

Cubs members and friends viewed the Library's copy of the Declaration of Independence, written in Thomas Jefferson's own hand, and companion materials. Special Guest, noted author, ABC news analyst, and Library Cub parent Fareed Zakaria, spoke about the importance of this cornerstone of our democracy.
